RFSAA at the Gauteng Exotics Expo – Event Highlights

The Rabbit Farmers South Africa Association was proud to showcase the rabbit industry at this year’s Gauteng Exotics Expo. The event brought together a diverse community of farmers, animal enthusiasts, and industry supporters, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.

At our stand, visitors explored the benefits of sustainable rabbit farming, learned about the role rabbits play in food security, and discovered how RFSAA is working to build greater visibility for rabbit farmers nationwide. Many attendees engaged in meaningful discussions about best practices, market opportunities, and the importance of strengthening support for the industry.

The expo also gave us the chance to connect with fellow vendors and organizations, reinforcing the collective effort to promote exotic and sustainable farming practices across South Africa. The energy and enthusiasm from the crowd highlighted just how much momentum the rabbit industry is gaining.

RFSAA Table Show: A Resounding Success!

On 22 February 2025, the Rabbit Farmers South Africa Association hosted its first-ever rabbit table show. Enthusiastic club members traveled far and wide to showcase their top-quality rabbits, demonstrating the dedication and passion that fuels our community.

We were honored to welcome our esteemed guest judge, James Topham from the British Rabbit Council, who journeyed all the way from Malta to oversee the event. His expertise brought a sense of prestige and excitement to the proceedings as he judged the best of the best that our club had to offer.

Congratulations to all the winners who triumphed on the day, and heartfelt thanks to every single club member who worked tirelessly to ensure the show’s remarkable success.

Together, we have set a promising foundation for many more outstanding events in the future!

The Rabbit Farmers South Africa Association (RFSAA) hosted our highly anticipated virtual Spring Rabbit Show in August 2024. This event brought together rabbit enthusiasts from across the country to showcase their prized rabbits in a virtual format. Participants had the opportunity to present their rabbits virtually through photo submissions, allowing judges to assess the rabbits' quality and characteristics from the comfort of their homes. The virtual show featured various categories, including best of breed, best in show, best fur, best commercial and best fancy, with winners receiving recognition and awards for their exceptional rabbits. The event was a resounding success, highlighting the dedication and passion of South Africa's rabbit farming community.
