About us

The Rabbit Farmers South Africa Association (RFSAA) supports dedicated rabbit breeders and enthusiasts by providing guidance to improve breeding practices and enhance rabbit quality nationwide. RFSA advises members on selecting breeding rabbits to meet quality standards, emphasizing genetics and color breeding techniques. The association also educates the public, including potential buyers and new rabbit owners, on selecting rabbits based on quality standards and understanding genetic traits. RFSAA plays a crucial role in advancing rabbit Breeding and pet ownership in South Africa through education and support.

Requirements to join as a registered member.

Virtual Vetting

The virtual vetting process allows for a more flexible and efficient way to screen and assess candidates from different locations without the need for travel and physical meet.
that includes a 360 degree view of your rabbitry, example of your water system, feeders or bowls.

Identification

We require your ID/Passport/Permit number for record keeping.

Residency

We do require you to be a resident in SA or at least spend 6+ months out of a 12 month period consecutively in SA. we require the area you stay in or physical address.

Fees

We require you to pay a annual fee of R200 that might increase by a small % annually.

Virtual Shows

Live Shows

Live rabbit shows will currently not take place due to RVHD2 1 day table shows will be possible depending on the spread and time of the year people and rabbits will be limited for safety.

Credit for performing tasks

Complimentary mini-courses will be accessible at NO additional cost to all members who have paid their annual fee. Participants in these courses will receive Credit certification, endorsed by the RFSAA.

Registered Membership

Registered membership will be granted to all paying members after vetting is done we require you to uphold the standards to be a registered member or registration may be forfeited.

 to verify that the member is indeed

registered with the RFSAA. 

You can use the provided RFSAA registration

 number to verify that that the registration

 is valid as well as verify the contact

details of the member.
